It’s easy to feel alone
during a big change in your life.
Big changes are tough.
I call these changes Gate Passages®.
They can be something you planned — like having a baby or a sudden health crisis that comes out of nowhere.
Either way, Gate Passages® usually cause loss — of relationships, situations, and things you counted on.
You can feel grief, as you face these losses on your own.
You can feel afraid of what’s coming next.
You can feel like all the tools you used before to cope don’t work.
You reach out for support.
But that can be hard too.
Even when you force yourself to try, you notice that either people in your life don’t get it …
or you’ve exhausted them talking about it …
or both.
This leads to more feelings of isolation and loneliness.
