Come for 2 hours of play, fun, art-making, relaxation and connecting back to yourself — all within a welcoming circle of women.
You’ll be guided, encouraged, validated and safely held.
The art-making part of the Women’s Art Circle borrows heavily from art therapy, which is an entire discipline of mental health that uses making art as a way of healing. No artistic ability or experience is needed. Art wounds from childhood have been known to also be healed in the circle.
It takes place at 18 Davenport Street, 2nd floor in Somerville, above Ovation Hair Salon (weather permitting) on:
- January 23
- 7-9 pm Weds. February 20 & 10:30 am-12:30 pm Thurs. Feb. 28
- 10:30 am-12:30 pm Tuesday, March 19th & 7-9 pm Weds. March 20th
Each circle is $30, with all materials included. Pre-registration and payment is encouraged, which you can do using the PayPal button below. Or send an email to mclancy@exit10.org to reserve your spot and bring cash/check to the circle.

“Wonderful. That’s what it is to spend two hours with interesting women and art materials. This isn’t a class, it is an opportunity. And I don’t have to plan the project, or clear a space in my house, or get everything out, or even clean up!
Maureen is a beautiful presence who guides and encourages. The result is a little piece of art I can share or keep private, love or hate, be proud of or be frustrated by. But it is all good, because it is done in the moment with color and texture and paper and crayons and paint and glitter pens!”
